“A foundation for healthy living and healthy giving”

                               Healthy Giving

Giving lavish praise to God, even in painful circumstances

Giving prayers persistently for others’ needs before our own

Giving encouragement to those around us lifts them, and gives us joy.

The four “T” model of giving=

Giving our Time, Talents and Treasures Together

The principle of generous giving= out of poverty not wealth-

The widow’s offering (Mk12:41-44; Lk21:1-4)

Unless we address the question: “How much is enough?” we will never be significant givers.

Living a fulfilling life is not made by getting more but by giving more.

The Parable of the Rich Fool (Lk12:13-21) –

“A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (Lk12:15)

The principle of thanks giving-

Giving thanks to God for everything we have and do

Giving out of love, with a thankful heart, not out of duty, fear, or expectation.

The principle of anonymous giving-

(Mt. 6:1-4)

The principle of giving mercy-

Beatitudes - Blessed are the merciful (Mt. 5:7)

The Sheep and Goats (Mt 25-31-46)

“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” (Lk14:13-14).

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

The principle of multiplication in giving –

The Parable of the Talents or Ten Minas (Mt 25:14-30; Lk19:12-27)

“You cannot serve both God and money.”  (Lk16:13)

“What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.” (Lk16:15)
